THE POWER OF THE FAMILY

Where is the true power of family lie?

“FAMILY, WE MAY NOT HAVE IT TOGETHER, BUT TOGETHER WE HAVE IT ALL”

Last Monday we celebrated Mother’s day in Egypt. I would definitely say that my mom is the closest person to me, more than any friends and more than any other member of my family. But this celebration reminded me of something sacred which is family.

Decades ago, people liked to have a lot of children. My mom used to have six siblings and when I asked her why did my grandparents had so many children, she just simply said, because the power of the family. Don’t get me wrong, my grandparents weren’t a powerful family that required to have a lot of children to insure the continuous of their bloodline, but simply any family has a power, which is the sacred power of the family.

In any cultural you would find the exact same thing, there is an entire series talking about the power of the blood shared between siblings, yes people I am talking about the originals. I love that series so much, it is my favorite series, but if you asked me to name one thing that I love about, I would quickly answer you “I love the way they represented the strong bond between this family” I mean no matter how much they hurt each other, if anyone else tried to hurt one of them, they might kill him, oh wait they do kill him. This is the true relationship between the member of the family and what every normal family should be like. Of course you would have disagreements with your sister about stealing your blouse or a fight with your brother because of the way he treated the guy you like, but in the end of the day, you would find yourself send anyone who tries to step on your siblings toes to hell and back. There is this quote that describe the bonds and disagreements between siblings and says (I would go by my brother against my cousin, but it would be and my cousin against strangers).

I don’t know about you guys, but my family is so important to me. I would do anything for them. I would sacrifice anything for them and I know they would do the same.
