“DECIDE THAT YOU WANT IT MORE THAN YOU ARE AFRAID OF IT.”
I am so happy today. Today is not just another blogging tips from
me that I have got from my experience. Today, I am bringing another great
blogger to tell us all about her experience in the blogging world, her
inspiration and her advice to all of us. Today I will be interviewing Mallory
from Dr. Wines Blog. But wait no, we won’t have an interview, but we will be
chatting together and I’ll be knowing her better and you too guys. Please make sure you go and check her blog www.drwinesblog.com
to enjoy perfect fashionable wearable looks.
Hello Mallory, thanks for doing this chat with me. I was so happy
when I saw your email that you accepted it. I won’t take so much from your time,
so let’s right jump into it.
Why don’t you tell us more about your blog?
Thank you so much for chatting with me and hello everybody! Dr.
Wines Blog is a lifestyle and fashion blog created to share some of my favorite
styles and looks at affordable prices. I love everything beauty and fashion, so
starting this blog was such an exciting opportunity to connect with others with
the same interests!
How long have you been blogging?
I am a blogging newbie! I just started my blog this summer and am
learning SO much about the blogging world! I can’t wait to share more and learn
and connect with all of you!
WELCOME TO THE BLOGGING WORLD THEN
What inspired you to start Dr. Wines Blog?
I thought about starting this blog in 2012 when I first started my
PHD program, but I truly didn’t have the time! I was working two jobs and
completing a doctoral program, so any hobbies or new ideas had to wait. It was
literally the month that I completed my doc program that I started researching
how to create a blog and connecting with a website designer. Fashion blogging
is so different than my life as a mental health therapist and professor, but
it’s such a good outlet for me (the therapist in me calls this blog my
self-care)!
Congratulations of your PHD.
What was the hardest step in starting a blog?
Learning about it all! As most bloggers, I spent a lot of time in
the beginning just researching how to start a blog, monetizing it, and
continuing to create content. Finding time is still tricky for me, as I work
full time as a therapist, part time as a professor, which includes teaching and
writing/publishing research, I am an Arbonne consultant, am starting a new
business with my husband, and now this blog! I guess you could say that I like
to be busy- so balancing it all can be challenging!
AND HERE I AM COMPLAINING THAT I DON’T HAVE TIME JUST BECAUSE I
BLOG WHILE I AM STILL IN COLLEGE.
GOOD LUCK FOR YOU ON EVERYTHING.
What is the thing that you enjoy the most in blogging?
I am having so much fun learning how to take pictures, write
content, and connecting with other bloggers! I love to sit in bed at night and
check out my favorite bloggers and learn new tricks! I love chatting with
readers and answering questions- they are all so sweet and supportive! I feel
like the blog world is supportive in general of each other!
What is the thing you enjoy the least in blogging?
I love taking pictures, but I still have so much to learn about
photography! I don’t mind learning, but some days I wish I could have it down
pat already!
Do you take your own pictures, or do you use a professional
photographer? If you take your own pictures what camera do you use and what
program do you use to edit your pictures?
My husband takes my pictures or I will occasionally take them my
self. We are learning about photography and I also have a ton to learn about my
camera still. I have a Nikon D5300 and I primarily use lightroom for some basic
editing!
Who is your blogging rule model?
I LOVE:
Can you tell us what captures you the most in other blogs? Like
what do you like the most about the blogs you follow, so we can take care of
those details that captures other bloggers?
I love the overall “theme” in these blogs. Each one has their own
style (fashion, photography, design) and all the posts are consistent and flow
really well!
Where do you want to see your blog after a year?
I would love to be posting more content, have an overall improved
theme, and build up my social media!
I would like to know how you manage your blog with working/studying
and in the same time having personal/social time?
As I mentioned, I tend to stay pretty busy. I am a believer in hard
work and I spend a lot of time working in all of my jobs (therapist, professor,
researcher, arbonne consultant, entrepreneur w/ my hubby, & blogger). I
have always stayed busy and worked multiple jobs, so it feels pretty normal to
me, but I am also a huge believer in relaxation and having fun! So I always put
time aside to do what I love and have time to spend with my family!
I know that I want to know and everyone else would also want to
know, what are the five advices do you give to those who want to start a blog?
1. Research (look at other bloggers, research SEO, youtube ways to
monetize your blog if that is your intent, how to utilize social media, etc.).
2. Get good with a camera (I’m definitely still working on this!)
3. Gain an overall theme for your blog (whether it be a good
photography theme going on, a beauty blog, or a blog on your profession) and
stay consistent
4. Network, network, network! I do this every day!
5. Post frequently. I am hoping to take my own advice on this.
Can you describe your blogger voice or blog voice in three words?
Believe In Yourself!
Thanks so much for answering those questions. But I have one more
questions. Where can people find you on social media?
(write your social media links and any other links you wish to add)
My blog is: www.drwinesblog.com
